Recently the NUSD Board of Trustees approved a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Solar City to install solar panels at 10 of our 13 school sites.  This agreement, which does not cost the district any money, locks in the cost of our electricity at low rates and will save our district between $8 – $12 million dollars over the next twenty years.  In a PPA, NUSD does not own the solar panels, but has the option to purchase them at regular intervals, and Solar City maintains the structures over the course of the agreement.  So not only are we “going green” and using solar energy, we are saving the district millions of dollars in the process! IMG_6216IMG_6218
