(Novato, CA) … This week, Superintendent Jim Hogeboom and a few District Office staff are filling in for teachers while they attend a project based learning (PBL)workshop located at the Marin Office of Education (MCOE).
The Novato Unified School District (NUSD) has been promoting and supporting teachers’ professional development especially in the area of project based learning for the past couple of years. Many NUSD teachers were interested in this workshop and to ensure they could participate; it was decided to volunteer District office staff who are credentialed teachers to help out. While much is said about the shortage of teachers, there is also a corresponding shortage of substitute teachers. Through these efforts, all teachers who were interested in this workshop were able to attend.
