Giving is the greatest act of kindness. The students at San Ramon Elementary School have gone above and beyond when it comes to giving. The students at San Ramon started a One Warm Coat drive on December 5 to collect coats for Social Advocates for Youth (SAY) in Sonoma County. They provide shelter and support for the over 1,000 homeless youth from ages 14-20. The small coats collected will be donated to families in need within Novato and Petaluma.

To date, the students have collected over 300 coats, sweatshirts, and sweaters. When the students learned about Social Advocates for Youth and the One Warm Coat drive, they truly felt it in their hearts. Children brought in bags and bags of coats while others simply dropped off the gloves they had worn to school that day. These children have given our community hope while inspiring all to give.

Representatives from Social Advocates for Youth will be at San Ramon Elementary School on Monday, December 19, in the morning to meet the students and thank them for the donations and efforts.
