En español, las escuelas del NUSD cerraron los martes y miércoles 29 y 30 de octubre de 2019.

Dear Novato Community,

My hope is that you are all doing well during this stressful time. Each of us is either directly or indirectly impacted: by power outages at our homes, schools and businesses; and evacuations and fires that are affecting those in Napa and Sonoma Counties.

At the time of this communication, power has not been restored to any of our schools. We have also received information from PG&E that power may be restored to Novato at 7 pm tonight, and that it will be out again tomorrow morning beginning at 7:00 with an estimated all clear time of Noon on Wednesday, October 30. Please keep in mind that PG&E continues to communicate that once the ‘all clear’ is given, it will take up to 48 hours to inspect, repair and restore power.

We have decided that all schools in Novato Unified will continue to be closed Tuesday, October 29 and Wednesday, October 30. This means all meetings and before and after-school programs are also canceled at all schools.

We will continue to closely monitor this situation and will inform you of our plans for Thursday, October 31, by approximately 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 30.

We will attempt to communicate through our traditional channels of emails, text messages, social media and our website. It is possible that internet, landline telephone, and cellular services will be down. If this is the case, we will be posting paper signs at the front offices of all campuses to inform you of the status of schools for the following day. We will do the same, if necessary, each day moving forward.

The Novato Unified School District office (1015 7th Street) will be open and at least minimally staffed from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, throughout any outage, whether we have power or not. Please stop by should you have any questions or concerns.
