Non-Agenda Public Comment: A group of Novato High students spoke about the need for a wellness center on campus.

BUDGET:  Yancy Hawkins presented the 2018-19 Second Interim Budget, Item 13.a.  Revenues increased by $1,667,04 and expenditures increased by $2,802,252.  Mr. Hawkins also presented the 2019-2020 Budget Balancing Solutions, Item 13.b.  Three community members commented on the budget balancing solutions. The Board approved both items.

BOND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE:  Mike Woolard presented the 2017-18 Annual Report from the Measure G Bond Independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee, Item 13.c.  The Board approved the 2017-18 Annual Report.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:  Yancy Hawkins presented the contracts for E-rate filing. The federal government provides funding to school districts to improve internet and network connectivity through its E-rate program, Item 13.c.  The Board approved the contracts.

PARCEL 1A CEQA:  Mike Woolard presented the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Draft Initial Study (IS)/Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) for the proposed Grounds, Maintenance and Operations (GMO) Building on Parcel 1A, Item 13.d.  The Board approved the CEQA draft Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration for the proposed GMO Building.

2020-2021 SCHOOL CALENDAR:  Kris Cosca presented the proposed school calendar for the 2020-2021 school year, Item 13.e.  The Board approved the 2020-2021 school calendar.

NORTH BAY INITIATIVE (NBI) UPDATE:  Jim Hogeboom and Mark Brewer gave an update on the cancellation of the NBI program at Novato High School. Two community members commented.  Please see Item 14.a. for more information.

ENROLLMENT AND STAFFING CAPACITY FOR THE 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR: Kris Cosca provided an updated on enrollment and capacity by school site for the 2019-2020 school year.  Each year the district identifies schools that may have space available for additional students based on the staffing level. Anticipated enrollment, program capacity, programs and enrollment are used to provide the projections by school site.  Please see Item 14.b. for more information.
