TITLE:                   Attendance Technician                                                                SITE:                     Novato High School

                                                             

SALARY:              Range 26 – Classified Salary Schedule                                     CALENDAR:        8 hours per day

$18.22-$21.89 per hour                                                                                            5 days per week

10 months

SUMMARY DEFINITION

The job of Student Records Technician is done for the purpose/s of documenting and/or providing reliable information about student records; ensuring accuracy of information; and providing information and/or direction.

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES may include, but are not limited to the following:

Directs student workers for the purpose of guiding and monitoring their activities.
Maintains a variety of student records for school site (e.g. grades, transcripts, files, documents, etc.) for the purpose of

documenting and/or providing reliable information.

Notifies parents and/or guardians of student absences for the purpose of meeting district, state and federal reporting

requirements.

Performs registrar functions, as required for the purpose of supporting the ongoing operation of each site location.
Prepares written materials (e.g. reports, memos, letters, attendance data, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities,

providing written reference and/or conveying information. Processes requests from students, other districts,

colleges/universities and/or employment agencies (e.g. transcripts, job verification, etc.) for the purpose of providing

required information.

Processes a variety of documents and notices (e.g. suspensions, crime reports, detention notices, daily attendance

information, etc.) for the purpose of providing required information.

Researches discrepancies for the purpose of clarifying student graduation status and ensuring the accuracy of

information.

Responds to written and verbal inquiries for the purpose of providing information and/or directions.
Supports assigned administrative personnel for the purpose of providing assistance with their administrative functions.
Assists other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
Attends meetings as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.

 

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS

to perform multiple non-technical tasks with some need to upgrade skills due to changing job conditions

Specific skills

operating standard office equipment including software and preparing and maintaining accurate records

KNOWLEDGE

to perform basic math including calculations of fractions, percents and/or ratios
interpret written procedures, write routine documents and speak clearly
understand complex multiple step instructions

Specific knowledge

of codes, regulations and laws related to student enrollment graduation and transfer

Flexibility is required to work with others under a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using standard methods of operation.
