Two presentations tonight:

  • School Fuel gave an update on the Tour of Novato and how it has raised over of $1 million since 2007 and held the Tour of Novato Bike Drawing. The winner is Lori Gianino.
  • Lynwood’s Principal Diaz spoke about the Dual Immersion Program and Ms. Rojas’ 1st Graders sang two songs in Spanish

EQUITY AUDIT:  Education Trust-West presented the results of the Equity Audit performed at the high schools in the spring of 2019.  Results of the audit can be found at Item 13.a.  Phase II includes a Blueprint for Equity Action Planning beginning next year.  Marin Promise representatives were also present and the Board passed a Resolution making the commitment to the Blueprint for Equity Planning and Implementation.

COLLEGE & CAREER READINESS (CCR) UPDATE:  Jen Larson and Jen Marsh Russell provided the Board an update and plans for next year (2019-20) for the CCR class for Freshmen.  A Sophomore student from Novato High shared their portfolio of an example of a 10-year plan.  More information can be found Item 13.b.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN: Jen Larson provided an overview of Professional Development for the 2019-20 school year. See Item 13.d. for details.

GOVERNOR’S MAY REVISE BUDGET UPDATE:  Yancy Hawkins gave an update on the Governor’s May Revise Budget – details can be found at Item 13.e.  An overview report by School Services of California was also included.

PARCEL TAX OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE REPORT:  Lisa Swanson, Committee Member, presented the annual report from the Parcel Tax Oversight Committee to the Board for approval.  The Board unanimously approved it. Please see Item 15.a. for more information.

MEASURE G PROJECT PROCESS AND PRIORITIZATION: Yancy Hawkins brought back this topic from May 21 which explains a roadmap and timeline to identify projects for the remaining $117 million bond monies ($105 million in projects are currently underway.) The process would begin in late May 2019 to December 2019 and the Board approved the process.  Please see Item 15.b.
