Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten Information

How to Enroll in Kindergarten:

Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten Registration will be available through Aeries Online Enrollment beginning on November 1, 2023. You can create an account or login if you already have an account. Once you have logged in, you will be guided to a Registration Packet. Please complete the packet and the School will contact you shortly.

Please be aware of the new immunization law that took effect in the 2018-19 school year. The law requires a student to be immunized when he or she enrolls in Kindergarten or Transitional Kindergarten. For more information on the new immunization, law go to: http://www.shotsforschool.org/laws/exemptions/.

Kindergarten

Transitional Kindergarten (TK)

The Novato Unified School District is not accepting Transitional Kindergarten students whose 5th birthday falls outside of the date range provided by the California Department of Education. The date range for the 2024-2025 school year for Transitional Kindergarten students is their 5th birthday which falls between September 2, 2024, and June 2, 2025. If a student’s 5th birthday is June 3, 2025, or later, their enrollment will not be accepted for the 2024-2025 school year. They will be eligible for Kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year.

Required Immunizations:

These immunization requirements apply to all new admissions and transfers for all grades, including Transitional Kindergarten.

Students admitted at the TK/K-12th grade level need the following:

  • Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis (DTaP, DTP, Tdap, or Td) – 5 doses (4 doses OK if one was given on or after 4th birthday. 3 doses OK if one was  given on or after 7th birthday). For 7th-12th graders, at least 1 dose of pertussis-containing vaccine is
    required on or after 7th birthday.
  • Polio (OPV or IPV) – 4 doses (3 doses OK if one was given on or after the 4th birthday)
  • Hepatitis B – 3 doses (Not required for 7th grade entry.)
  • Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) – 2 doses (Both given on or after 1st birthday.)
  • Varicella (Chickenpox) – 2 doses. (Usually given at ages 12 months and 4-6 years)
