[:en]Rail Safety Trainings Held at all NUSD Schools
Safety comes first! Novato Unified School District has worked with the soon-to-be gliding SMART train to help promote safety. For the past year, SMART train professionals have conducted rail safety presentations at all NUSD schools and completed those presentations in September, 2016.
The presentations varied to accommodate the different grade levels. The elementary students received a 30 minute presentation with an 11 minute video. Middle school students were given a 45 minutes presentation and an 11 minute video, and high school students received an hour-long presentation and a 10 minute video. At the end of the rail safety training, students were given time to review the material along with time for questions and answers.
It’s key for the community to be aware of the rail safety strategies and to remain alert near the train tracks.
