[:en]San Jose Middle School Performing Arts Students Entertain Chili Cook-Off Competitors

Thursday evening, November 3, San Jose Middle School is hosting their 4th annual Chili Cook-Off from 6 – 8 pm in the multi-use room to benefit the performing arts program.  Fall Fling, the school’s annual concert, will complete the wonderful evening with music played by the jazz and concert band students. New groups perform every 15 minutes, while the chili tasting and voting is going on.

In the previous years the chili fundraisers have been quite a success. The money earned helps pay for instruments, uniforms, festivals fees, scholarships and more, for students in need who are part of the Performing Arts program.

Over 40 different kinds of homemade chili carefully prepared by students and their families will be offered.  A diverse assortment of chilies will be available to sample including Hawaiian, Curry, and Indian chilies that range from mildly spicy to HOT! There is a best of show “critiques choice” award, four other top awards, and everyone who enters receives a certificate.

Tasting the delicious chilies is all part of the cook-off and concert so come join the flavorful fun and enjoy the lively music all while helping the school raise money.[:]
