How to Comment on Novato Unified School District Board Meeting Agenda Items

Board meetings are held in-person at the District Office (1015 7th Street, Novato 94945) and all members of the public are welcome to attend to provide their public comments.

The NUSD Board Agendas can be found here at this link.

Please Note…

The meetings and public comments are offered in English. If you need interpretation in another language, please request it at least 48 hours before the meeting and we will do everything possible to make an accommodation.

  • General comments on items not on the agenda that address a topic that is within the Board’s subject matter jurisdiction can be shared during “Non-Agenda Public Comment.” You will be asked to state the non-agenda topic to the moderator.
  • Comments specific to a particular agenda item must be expressed while the Board is considering that agenda item.
  • Public Comments may be up to three-minutes in length. Three minutes equals approximately 450 words.
  • Each person may only speak once per agenda topic.
  • Generally, pursuant to Board bylaw 9323, the Board will limit the total time for hearing public comments on each item to 20 minutes. However, in exceptional circumstances when necessary to ensure full opportunity for public input, the Board president may, with Board consent, adjust the amount of time and/or the time allotted for each comment.
  • Participants who are intentionally disruptive during the meeting (profanity, obscenities, or discriminatory language) will be removed by the meeting host.
  • Your comments will become part of the public record.
