San Marin Students Star in Evan Rachel Wood Music Video

Novato, CA… San Marin High School Advanced Drama students had a very memorable experience last October 2016. San Marin graduate, Justin Morrison, Class of 2001, contacted his former drama teacher Linda Kislingbury because his production company was producing a music video for actress and singer Evan Rachel Wood and needed a classroom with all of the San Marin advanced drama high school students.

Ms. Kislingbury sprang into action recruiting all of her San Marin’s advanced drama students. A few days later the production company flew up from Los Angeles with all their equipment and filmed part of the video in one night under the guidance of Justin and Director Zack Villa.

Justin Morrison, cinematographer and director, and Yuri Baranovsky, playwright and director, are both partners in a very successful production company called Happy Little Guillotine Studios (HLGstudios).

Ms. Kislingbury commented, “This was a great hands-on learning experience for my students and me. It was a long fun night and worth every minute. The students and I loved working with Evan Rachel Wood, Film Producer Justin Morrison, Director Zack Villa and the whole crew.”

“I am so proud of Justin and Yuri.” Kislingbury said. “I have known Justin since kindergarten and he starred in my first production at San Marin in 2001, “Arsenic and Old Lace.” Yuri has written several plays and we performed two of his plays at the Lenaea State Drama Festival in Sacramento. Hats off to these creative young men who have followed their passions in the ARTs.”

The video, Rebel in A Basketcase, was released on May 3, 2017.

Justin Morrison wrote last week to thank Ms. Kislingbury for her support and help with the music video and said, “Your whole class was such a talented and amazingly nice group of kids.”
