Novato, CA…The Novato Unified School District is pleased to announce that free meals will be served to children 18 and under until December 31, 2020 thanks to the U.S. Department of Agriculture announcement on August 31 that the summer meal program will continue as funding allows.
Starting September 1, NUSD Food and Nutritional Services (FANS) feeding sites will be free for all under 18 and will remain in effect through at least December 31:
- FANS will operate during distance, hybrid or in-person learning
- Feeding all children 18 and under in the community
- Parents/guardians may pick up meals for their children, children do not need to be present
- Those picking up meals can also do so for other family members’ children or learning pods, neighbor children, etc. No questions asked other than for how many 18 and under are you pick up for?
Additionally, starting on Monday, September 14, FANS will serve meals at these additional locations:
- Loma Verde, 12:00 – 1:00, 399 Alameda de la Loma, at the roundabout
- Lu Sutton, 11:45 – 1:00, 1800 Center Road, at the roundabout adjacent to the main parking lot
- San Ramon, 12:00 – 1:00, 45 San Ramon Way, in the roundabout
FANS will continue serving meals at the following locations:
- Hill Education Center, 11:30-1:00, 720 Diablo Avenue, Novato – drive-thru/walk-up
- Hamilton K-8 School, 11:30-1:00, 5530 Nave Drive, Novato – drive-thru
- Lynwood Elementary School, 11:30-12:00, 1320 Lynwood Drive, Novato – drive-thru/walk-up
- Olive School Area(not the school site) – 11:30-12:00, 1530 Armstrong Avenue, Novato – walk-up only
NUSD FANS department will have tables set up for an easy and convenient drive through pick up or walk up service for meals to take home.
Families are encouraged to fill out the Free and Reduced meal applications for the 20-21 school year as additional benefits may apply. https://www.nlappscloud.com/
