NUSD Appoints New Administrators

            (Novato, CA) … On May 7, 2024, the Board of Trustees appointed Eleanor Marsh as Principal of Sinaloa Middle School and Mrs. Alison McMorrow Assistant Principal at Hamilton TK-8 School.

Ms. Eleanor (Ellie) Marsh has held several educational leadership roles, including co-principal at San Pedro Elementary School, principal at the International Community School, vice principal at Piedmont Elementary School, and second-grade bilingual teacher at Acorn Woodland Elementary School. Fluent in both Spanish and English, Ellie also has teaching experience in Madrid, Spain.

With nearly 20 years of experience, Ms. Marsh is an equity-focused school leader known for building strong relationships with staff, families, and students. She is skilled at analyzing data to identify trends in school culture and academic performance and leads teams to develop effective school-wide practices based on student and family needs.

Ms. Marsh earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Lewis & Clark College, Master of Arts in Multicultural and Bilingual Education from La Universidad de Alcalá de Henares in Spain, and Administrative Credential Program at New Leaders/Reach Program.

Mrs. Alison (Ali) McMorrow started her teaching career at Loma Verde Elementary School 11 years ago, teaching first and third grade. For the past four years, she has taught Kindergarten and served as a Data Teacher on Special Assignment focused on social-emotional skills. She helps teachers foster inclusive classrooms while guiding students in developing interpersonal relationships and executive functioning skills.

Ali earned her Bachelor of Science from Dominican University and her Master of Arts in Education, along with an Administrative Credential, from San Francisco State University.

At the meeting on April 23, 2024, the Board of Trustees approved Ms. Fremantle as the new Principal of Lu Sutton Elementary School. Karen has served as the Coordinator for Curriculum and Instruction at the District Office since 2022 and was previously a Teacher on Special Assignment since 2019. She started her teaching career as a Kindergarten teacher at San Rafael City Schools, then moved to Novato Unified School District as a first-grade teacher. At Rancho Elementary, she worked as an Academic Coach and a fourth-grade teacher before joining the District Office.

She oversees TK-12 curriculum development and implementation, ensuring it aligns with standards and instructional goals. She also trains educators on assessment and data analysis. Karen is dedicated to providing students with a challenging yet joyful education that fosters both academic success and personal growth. She is committed to addressing every student’s needs.

Karen earned a Bachelor of Science from UC Santa Barbara, an Administrative Credential from Sonoma State University, and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Sonoma State University. Growing up in Novato, she attended Lynwood Elementary, San Jose Middle School, and Novato High School.
