NOVATO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT COVID-19 DASHBOARD

1/6/22 – Reminder:  This Dashboard reflects positive cases for individuals who have been on campus within close contact* of others at NUSD.  It does not reflect positive cases that occur over extended breaks where individuals have not been on campus. *Close Contact is defined as any individual who was within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes starting from 2 days before illness onset (or, for asymptomatic patients, 2 days prior to positive specimen collection) until the time the patient is isolated.

This Dashboard reflects positive cases reported starting on the first day of school on August 17, 2021.

The Novato Unified School District is following the Isolation and Quarantine Guidance of the Marin County Office of Education and the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services (Marin HHS) for scenarios and actions related to COVID-19 exposures and cases.

Confirmed positive COVID-19 incidents related to Novato Unified school sites and offices will be posted to this page. For the purposes of this dashboard:

  • NUSD is counting positive confirmed cases for individuals (both students and staff) who have been on campus within close contact* of others for NUSD or school supervised instruction or activities during the school year. Only cases that potentially impact individuals’ health and wellness at our schools or offices will be reported. Individuals may be in contact with individuals outside our schools, so continue to monitor Public Health updates for community information
  • NUSD is not counting community-related cases for those individuals who have not come onto campus within close contact* of other students and staff.
  • Numbers are corroborated with Marin HHS and site administrators for accuracy.

*Close Contact is defined as any individual who was within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes starting from 2 days before illness onset (or, for asymptomatic patients, 2 days prior to positive specimen collection) until the time the patient is isolated.

The Dashboard is updated on Thursdays by 5 pm.

*Important Note: NUSD does not wait to notify close contacts upon initial report of a positive case. However, we do wait for official confirmation from the public health department before listing a case on this dashboard. This could result in a delay of cases appearing on this dashboard or a discrepancy between the number of notifications received and actual number of confirmed cases (when the case is not confirmed positive by public health).

Communication to cohorts and school communities are sent out as applicable following the Marin HHS protocols.  In the event of a positive COVID-19 case that could potentially impact individuals’ health and wellness at our schools or offices, school staff and the school community are informed.
