NUSD’s Commitment to Safety of Students and Families
On December 20, 2016, the NUSD School Board adopted Resolution 19, designating the district schools and premises as safe zones for students and families being threatened by Immigration Enforcement (ICE). This important resolution establishes procedural boundaries that protect the privacy of individuals within our school communities, and prevents disruption of schools and offices as vital parts of the learning environment.
