Suicide is the second leading cause of death among school age youth. The Novato Unified School District strongly believes that when all adults and students in the school community are committed to making suicide prevention a priority—and are empowered to take informed action—we can help youth in crisis before they engage in behavior with irreversible consequences.
Dr. Brock is a Professor and the School Psychology Program Coordinator in the College of Education at California State University, Sacramento (CSUS). Dr. Brock will be joining our community to share his expertise in the area of Suicide including: warning signs, recommendations for the home, and basic understanding of suicide risk assessment and intervention.
Dr. Brock’s academic work has included study of school crisis interventions; system level school crisis response; school suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention; ADHD; functional behavioral assessment; violence prevention; behavior threat assessment and management; reading; and autism. Dr. Brock has played an authorship role on many books on these topics, and he is considered an expert in the field of Suicide and Postvention.
We invite you to join us for an evening focused on achieving this shared community goal.
