NUSD Welcomes New Director of Instructional Technology

            (Novato, CA) … The Novato Unified School District is excited to announce that Dana Luis has been named Director of Instructional Technology pending Board of Trustees approval on January 30, 2024.  Assuming her new role on February 1, 2024. Ms. Luis brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this position.

Currently serving as a Systems Engineer in the Instructional Technology Department since 2022, Dana has been instrumental in enhancing NUSD’s security posture.  Her responsibilities encompass systems administration for NUSD servers, software and network infrastructure, including the management of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.  Dana has also played a key role in bond-funded network upgrades, modernizing school network infrastructure, transitioning to a new data center and implementing a new security camera system.

With a background as a Systems Analyst and extensive experience as a Technology Support Technician III and II, Dana’s journey reflects her dedication to advancing technology in education. Prior to NUSD, she served as a Technology/Process Consultant at J.D. Hayden & Co., Director of Product Manager and Operations Manager at Wynd Communications Corporation.

Ms. Luis received a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California.  She steps into the role previously held by Tim Rocco, who accepted a position in another school district in December 2023.
