Tobacco Use Prevention Eduation

 

 

The Tobacco Use Prevention Education (TUPE) program strives to reduce youth tobacco, marijuana, e-cigarette, and vape use by helping students make informed decisions through tobacco and nicotine prevention, intervention support, education, peer advocacy and school site activities.

Tobacco-Use Prevention Education (TUPE) Program: The purpose of the state-funded TUPE program is to reduce substance use by empowering students in grades 6-12 to make healthful decisions through preventative instruction, intervention, cessation programs, and activities through youth development. The TUPE program aims to provide services such as:

  • Tobacco prevention education
  • School-based events for teachers and students
  • Tobacco and vaping education curriculum 
  • Student intervention support
  • Tobacco-free policies 
  • Tobacco-free signage to all district-owned building entrances
  • Ongoing district support with policies
