California public schools built before 2010 must test for lead in drinking water per Assembly Bill 746 which was signed by Governor Brown last year. AB 746 requires community water systems statewide to complete lead testing in these schools by January 1, 2019. The Novato Unified School District is working with the North Marin Water District to begin testing the water at all schools starting on February 26, 2018, with an anticipated completion date of June 8, 2018.
