NUSD is embarking on a search for a new Superintendent.
The Board of Trustees approved the plan for a Search on June 14, 2022. Walt Buster, a retired Superintendent and search consultant, will be working with Francesca Whitcomb, Director of Human Resources, and Jan La Torre-Derby, current Superintendent, on the search. Walt Buster was a superintendent in Fairfax Elementary School District, Tamalpais Union High School District, Cotati Rohnert Park Unified School District, and Clovis Unified School District. He has also performed extensive superintendent searches and trustee consulting. Last year he successfully conducted the search and hiring of the Superintendent at Napa Valley Unified School District. He lives in Marin and knows the Bay Area very well. NUSD is fortunate to have Walt Buster conduct this search with us for a very nominal fee as it is a huge cost savings not to hire an outside firm.
