NUSD Appoints New Administrators
(Novato, CA) … On June 4, 2024, the Board of Trustees appointed Andy Boone as Principal of San Marin High School and Lynzie Brodhun as the Director of PK-8 Educational Services. Both will begin July 1, 2024.
NUSD is welcoming back Andy Boone. Andy began his career in education at the Novato Unified School District as a social science teacher and then as an assistant principal at Novato High School. He also served as assistant principal at Hall Middle School. He has over 20 years of diverse experience in education, health, and wellness and brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the role of Principal of San Marin High School.
In addition to his educational career, Mr. Boone founded and operated two health and wellness businesses, providing functional health and nutrition services to families across Marin County. He also established Equip, a nonprofit dedicated to teaching basic health and wellness knowledge to at-risk youth and families.
Recently, Mr. Boone led health and wellness programs across 18 school districts for the Marin Office of Education. His work included consulting on health programs and facilitating a listening campaign to improve the Proficiency Based Education program.
Throughout his career, Mr. Boone has been recognized for his heart-centered approach, humility, and advocacy for all individuals. He recently consulted with the Marin County Office of Education to lead health and wellness programs across 18 school districts.

We are confident that under his leadership, the school will continue to excel and provide exceptional opportunities for all students.”
Andy holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership from San Francisco State University and a Single Subject Teaching Credential from Sonoma State University. Mr. Boone replaces Dr. Jennifer Larson who accepted a position with the Sonoma County Office of Education.
NUSD is also welcoming back Lynzie Brodhun. Lynzie began her career at Novato Unified School District at San Jose Middle School as an English and Leadership Teacher. Recently she served as the Principal of Thomas Page Academy in the Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District since 2020. During her tenure, she has been instrumental in implementing Professional Learning Community (PLC) systems, guiding successful Federal Program Monitoring for Title I and English Learner programs. Her leadership has led to a significant decrease in suspension rates and an improvement in school climate and student achievement.
In addition to her academic qualifications, Ms. Brodhun is recognized for her skills in coaching educators, data analysis, and innovating school culture. She has been awarded the SELPA Spirit of Education Award for her work in creating a co-taught transitional kindergarten program and has led her previous school to achieve ‘Blue’ status on the CA Department of Education Dashboard for English Learner Progress.
Ms. Brodhun holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from San Francisco State University and a Single Subject Teaching Credential from Dominican University of California. She has also completed a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication with a minor in History/Political Science from Vanguard University of Southern California.
