Dear NUSD Community,
As a follow up to our Covid Update on Friday, September 3, 2021, we want to provide a couple of clarifications based on some of the emails we received. We appreciate the feedback and thank you for taking the time to reach out to us.
- NUSD will accept the results from rapid antigen tests that families supply for their student. The parent/guardian must send a screenshot of the results to principal or health liaison to confirm a negative result. Clarification: Returning with a negative test only applies to students/staff with symptoms or in quarantine, and not those who have tested positive.
- Clarification on when Students Test Positive for COVID-19:
- Inform school immediately
- Full at-home isolation for ten (10) days from the time symptoms started (or date of positive test)
- Students can return to school when they are feeling better AND fever-free for more than 24 hours without fever-reducing medications.
- The Covid-19 Scenario Infographic for Supervised TK-12 School Exposure have been updated. They can be found here in English and Spanish.
- This is a reminder that NUSD schools are limiting visitors/parents/guardians on campus (#29 of the Marin County School Guidelines) to minimize contact with students and staff. Schools are restricting parents/guardians from entering the school, especially during drop off and pick up. If a parent/guardian is invited to be on campus, we ask that they wear a mask.
- NUSD has had 16 reported positive Covid-19 cases with potential exposures across the district in a population of approximately 7,392 individuals. This represents .2% not the 002% mistakenly reported.
Again, thank you again for your feedback. If you have any questions, please let us know.
