- As part of our “Culture of Caring” initiative, we have connected with the Headspace company and through their Educators Initiative Strategy—they are offering their mindfulness app free of charge to all NUSD employees that have an “@nusd.org” email address with which they register.
- Headspace is an app that offers guided meditations and has specific programs within the app designed for children. The kids section is customized into different sessions based on age groups of under 5, 6-8, and 9-12-years-old and focuses on 5 themes: Calm, Focus, Kindness, Sleep, and Wake Up. Sessions can be as short as 3 minutes and can easily be integrated into the classrooms, when needed, to help students focus and be present or to be used with individual students to assist them in dealing with anxiety or anger.
