Dr. Tracy Smith serves as the Superintendent for the Novato Unified School District.

Dear NUSD Community,

As I begin my third year as Superintendent of the Novato Unified School District, I remain energized by the incredible sense of purpose that defines our schools. Novato is a community deeply committed to its students—their learning, growth, and well-being—and it shows in every classroom, campus, and conversation.

This year marks the second year of our three-year Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), which guides our priorities and investments through 2028. Our work is centered around three core goals:

• High-Quality Instruction and Improved Academic Outcomes
   
• Positive School Culture and Climate
   
• Student and Family Engagement

In response to the evolving needs of our students, we also continue to focus on school safety, mental health support, relationship-building, and educational equity. These priorities reflect our belief that every student deserves to feel safe, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential

We will continue to communicate regularly with our families and community—at least twice a month—through our district newsletter and updates. If you haven’t already, click here to subscribe. Staying connected and informed helps us partner more effectively in support of student success.
