Welcome to Student Services
The Student Services Department supports the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of all students in Novato Unified School District. We oversee programs and services that promote safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments, including counseling, health services, attendance, and student engagement initiatives. Our work centers on removing barriers to learning and ensuring that each student has access to the resources and supports they need to thrive. Through collaboration with families, schools, and community partners, we strive to foster belonging, resilience, and opportunity for every student.

Responsible for oversight of 504 plans, Student Study Teams, Student Interventions, Discipline, School Attendance Review Board (SARB) Hearings, Expulsions Hearings, Homeless/Foster Youth Services, Home Hospital Instruction, Inter and Intra District Transfers, California Healthy Kids Survey Implementation, Athletic Directors, Student Records, Tobacco Use Prevention Education (TUPE), and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

Responsible for oversight of school counselors, social workers, and interns, college and career specialist, and certified wellness coaches (TK-12), district liaison for high school wellness hubs, California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI), University of California A-G Course Management Portal submissions, Cal Grant/ financial aid, Devereux Student Strengths Assessment (DESSA) implementation, MCOE wellness liaison, Student Wellness Ambassadors Program, MCOE multipayer fee schedule implementation, BACR and NMCS contract management, suicide prevention, Middle/Early College grant

Responsible for providing administrative support to the Executive Director and Student Services Director, new student registration, transfers, CALPADS, Board Policy updates, coordination of SARB and Expulsion Hearings, records request, and coordination of Home Hospital Instruction
