The Novato Unified School District serves a diverse community of approximately 7,150 students, offering them high-quality education from Transitional Kindergarten to 12th-grade. Our mission is to engage, inspire and empower all students, in a rapidly changing world, to realize their life goals.
Our Programs
A specialized program within Novato High School offering students the opportunity to study cinematic arts, creative writing, dance, music, theatre and visual arts. Learn more at Marin School of the Arts website.
STEM Marin at San Marin High School

A specialized program within San Marin High offering project-based learning to develop students’ abilities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Learn more at the STEM Marin website.
Dual Language Immersion Program

The dual language immersion program at Lynwood Elementary School and San Jose Middle School is designed to nurture foundational skills for bilingualism and biliteracy in Spanish and English as well as promote a love of multiculturalism for students as they learn grade-level content. Medical Career Pathways is a specialty program at Novato High that introduces students to a variety of healthcare careers and topics. It offers a rigorous and articulated college curriculum to prepare students for the skills needed to be college and career-ready in a variety of medical fields. Pathways to College and Career Excellence
NUSD is committed to prepare all students for college readiness and success in a global society. We offer college-oriented programs at all schools including:
- AVID (Achievement Via Individual Determination) college preparatory elective class for grades 6 through 12
- School-to-Career Partnership Internship Program
- CaliforniaColleges.edu is a state-funded, comprehensive, digital platform with the tools students need to develop their college and career plans. This platform is available to all students, educators, and parents/guardians at NUSD secondary sites.
