San Marin High School Emily Gates Performing Arts Center

The Emily Gates Performing Arts Center is a state of the art 221 seat ADA accessible facility located on the north side of the San Marin High School campus. The facility features a large proscenium stage; a rep lighting plot with programmable LED lights; a sound system, stage monitors, and two wireless handheld microphones; a projection screen and a digital projector; and a grand piano. There is a spacious greenroom/dressing room behind the stage, featuring a video monitor, make-up mirrors, and access to an all-gender bathroom. The lobby features men’s and women’s bathrooms, and a ticketing booth.

The Emily Gates Performing Arts Center was funded by Measure G, a $222 million bond generously passed by Novato voters to modernize Novato Unified School District schools. Community access to the facility is one of its most important values and the Emily Gates Performing Arts Center has been welcoming the community since it first opened in 2021. With a focus on local youth organizations and non-profits, the building has played host to San Ramon Elementary School, San Jose Middle School, Good Shepherd Lutheran School, Rhythms Performing Arts School, Best of SF Stand Up, and Infinite Flow Dance.

The facility is available to rent from mid-June to mid August and is an excellent venue for local performing arts organizations, corporate and non-profit events, youth programs, summer camps, and film and media production.
