Novato High School Center for the Arts

The Center for the Arts is a state of the art 474 seat ADA accessible facility located on the Novato High School campus. The facility features a large proscenium stage; a rep lighting plot with programmable LED lights; a sound system and two wireless handheld microphones; a projection screen and a digital projector; a marley dance floor; a grand piano, music stands, orchestra chairs, and an orchestra shell. There is a spacious greenroom/dressing room next to the stage, featuring video monitors, make-up mirrors, and access to men’s and women’s changing rooms and bathrooms, and an all-gender bathroom in the hall. The lobby features men’s and women’s bathrooms, and a gallery space.

The Center for the Arts was funded by Measure G, a $222 million bond generously passed by Novato voters to modernize Novato Unified School District schools. Community access to the facility is one of its most important values and the Center for the Arts has been welcoming community organizations since it first opened in 2021. With a focus on local organizations and non-profits, the building has played host to Marin Ballet, Marin Dance Theater, The Marin Symphony, Enriching Lives through Music, Happy Feet Dance School, Marin Conservatory of Dance, Splitz Dance, Love 2 Dance, Singers Marin, the Novato Fire Department, the Boy Scouts, and the Landfill Harmonic. The Center for the arts was recently awarded Best Performing Arts Center by the Pacific Sun, Best of Marin, 2025!

The facility is available to rent from mid-June to mid August and is an excellent venue for local performing arts organizations, corporate and non-profit events, youth programs, summer camps, and film and media production.
