The Education Services Department is committed to ensuring high-quality, equitable learning experiences for every student in Novato Unified School District. We lead the development and implementation of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning to support strong academic outcomes across all schools. Our team partners closely with the Student Services Department, the Special Education Department, site leaders, and educators to align programs with state standards, foster innovation, and continuously improve teaching and learning. With a focus on equity, access, and student achievement, we work to ensure that every learner is supported, challenged, and prepared for success in college, career, and community.

Responsible for oversight of the Education Services Department, board policies, budgets, professional development, curriculum, assessment analysis and development, grants, instructional technology, specialized programs including Career Technical Education (CTE) and ELOP, curriculum adoptions, A-G Course Outlines, School Plans for Student Achievement, LCAP, and Parent Education

Responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Proficiency-Based Education (PBE), Curriculum Adoptions, Instruction, Assessment, Report Cards, TK & Universal PreK program development, New Teacher Induction, Professional Development, Teachers on Special Assignment, Bell Schedules, Elementary Music and PE.

Responsible for Categorical Program compliance including Federal Program Monitoring (FPM), support School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), Title I Crate online document management program, coordinating California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), Educational Software for Guiding Instruction (ESGI), and PSAT, and library media tech district contact, monitor expenses for Education Services. Responsible for oversight of the Extended Learning Opportunities Program offerings throughout the district. Responsibilities include serving as the liaison between the school administrators and program providers and implementing, monitoring and documenting the requirements of the Extended Learning Opportunities Program.

Responsible for serving as the liaison between the secondary school administrators, CTE teaching staff, and Marin County Office of Education to ensure the Career Technical Education course offerings meet CTE requirements while supporting staff in developing strong pathways that enable students to be both college and career ready. Responsible for the completion of the Perkins, CTEIG, and K-12 Strong Workforce grants and spearheading the CTE Advisory Committee. Helps identify and recruit potential CTE teachers and business industry leaders to partner with the district. Supports teachers in obtaining CTE certification.

Responsible for providing administrative support to the Education Services department, board reports, budgets, curriculum & textbooks, records compliance, contracts and Memorandums of Understanding, Career Technical Education, timesheets

Assists in the planning, coordination, and implementation of all state-mandated English Learner proficiency assessments for all school sites, completes the reclassification and evaluation processes and required forms for EL students as outlined by the district’s EL Master Plan, supports the Multilingual Learner Program Coordinator
