  • NUSD partners with Buckelew to provide suicide prevention classroom presentations, utilizing the SOS Signs of Suicide Evidence-Based Curriculum to students in 7th and 11th grade districtwide. Trained outreach coordinators from Bucklew partner with NUSD counseling and wellness staff to provide education, resources, and support on an annual basis. Suicide prevention education also takes place in 9th grade health classrooms in partnership with wellness and/or school counseling staff.  SOS is an evidence-based curriculum that teaches students how to use the ACT (Acknowledge, Care, Tell a Trusted Adult) protocol if they are concerned about a friend.
